The MPAA is trying to crack down on the illegal movies spreading over the internet everyday, and as it has already cracked down on peer to peer networks such as Kazaa and iMesh, it is heading to other technology such as Bittorrent. The technology itself is legal and that goes for Kazaa too, there are many legal downloads on these networks, but this technology has been abused and taken millions out of the movie industry.

Suprnova.org was the biggest torrent site on the internet and offered thousands of user's everyday links to free software and movies. Apple have also taken action into its own hands with three men being prosecuted due to a leak of the next Mac OS X tiger, this was also one of the torrent files which you could access on Suprnova.org.

Rumours have arisen over that suprnova.org has not shut down, but people have dismissed these rumours as untrue. As the MPAA try to crack down on more websites, could this be the end for peer to peer technology?
